"The New Christians"
I was browsing through the Christian section of Barnes & Noble this morning and I ran into this.
What the heck?
Since when are Christians new? Do we have a "new" Christ?
Christians are ones who follow the Christ, Jesus the Messiah.
Since when did Jesus, who is eternal, and the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, need to upgrade to 2.0 version?
See those books down at the bottom of the display? Those books are by the authors of Rob Bell, Brian McLauren and the rest of the "Emergent Church" crowd.
New Christians, indeed. A total different crowd that is being misled away from the Truth, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Stay away from such people. They are wolfs in sheep clothing. These people, as Paul said in 1 Timothy 4, have fallen away from the faith. These people are proclaiming "another Gospel", the Social Gospel. The gospel that does not save a man's soul, but instead lead him to hell instead.
Man's works can't save him from his sin. Never can, never will.
He thinks that with his good works in helping his fellow man, that he can get enough brownie points in order that God will let him into Heaven.
Wrong.
That is not God's way.
There is only ONE way...and Jesus Christ said what it was in John 14:6 - "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."
He died on the Cross, He took the punishment of your sins upon Himself.
But the thing is...you have to see that you are a sinner, that YOU have sinned against a Holy God and the punishment for that act is eternal separation from the presense of God forever.
Your pride doesn't like that that you have to confess.
You have to do it God's way or no other way.
The "New Christians" don't think you have to confess your sin and admit that you are lost without God. They think they can do in on there own and they can leave God out of the picture.
Lucifer thought he could be God, that he can rule without God.
So did Adam and Eve and look where the world is now.
Call upon the name of Jesus and you shall be saved from your sins.
Don't be like these "new Christians" who are leading the blind along with them.

What does the Bible say about the origins of the anti-Christ? He fits the bill. In one of his campaign speeches he promises to lower the sea level, to counter act the global warming, and the only bill he sponsored in Congress is going through the works right now to tax Americans for global welfare system. In fact it subjugates US sovereignty to UN whim. I can imagine Obama running for UN leadership after his presidency.
Come Lord Jesus, come.
Keep spreading the truth.

I skimmed through Mclaren's book The Secret Message of Jesus the other day. It did have a very 'works oriented' feel to it. 'Do these good works to have a good life now', it seemed to say.
He redefined Biblical terms like eternal life to mean 'Kingdom life here and now' and repentence to mean 'rethink everything the way you've thought about everything'. He defined in his book what Jesus really meant, a secret message that the Church has missed or intentionally covered up for the past 2 thousand years, that's it's not all about the cross (yes, he said that) but about doing good works for the kingdom- for this life now. Very scary stuff.
The American Church is being mislead big time. We are drifting and following every new 'fad' that itches our ears.

We the church have allowed this to grow, by welcoming in false teachers into our church all in the name of "let's just all get along", "unity" and "self asteem" propaganda.
It's time we, the church start being the church of Christ Jesus and following His teachings and not the teachings of the world. We seem to ignore the teaching on church discipline and we are paying a heavy price for that.
